Beastmen Gallery

As with the Lizardmen, I felt that I could find a better colour scheme for these bad boys than the red/orange brown chosen by the GW studio painters.  Mine are quite dark in general, however I felt this fit the primitive, earthy feel of the Beastmen.  I used a dark green and reddish brown for the clothing, which helped to make them a bit more colorful overall, without straying too far from the generally dark look.  I was pleased with the overall effect, and painting them this way was much more rewarding than copying the scheme from the army book.  The paint job on the Gors turned out to be very popular, and I ended up painting a large number of them after many people saw the original auction on ebay.

These next models were painted right around the time I had finally switched to using a digital camera instead of a scanner.  The Shaggoths represent one of those interesting occasions in which two clients asked me to paint the same new model at the same time.  This gave me the opportunity to try doing two different versions; one in my own colour scheme and one in the GW style.
