Phoenix Guard

Some of the best looking High Elves, these are a pleasure to paint.  If the banner looks familiar, it was taken from the High Elf army book, although I did paint it on by hand, with a bit of outlining done with technical pens.  I also took the time to add the blue flame design to the back of each model's cloak - all 25 of them!

With this regiment, I began using a darker colour for the bases instead of Ye Olde Goblin Green, and found that I really liked it.  The Guards' robes are also darker than the ones in the book.  I found that starting with a dark grey and then gradually highlighting it to a light grey gave it better definition than highlighting it up to white.
